You can find me blogging on the Jisc Digital Student site where I’m currently working with Lou McGill on a study into the experiences and expectations of online learners. I’m also putting the finishing touches to some case studies from institutions involved in the Digital Student Tracker pilot.
Over with Jisc Digital Capabilities, last year I delivered a new digital capabilities framework for academic and professional staff in UK HE, FE and skills. I continue to work with a number of professional bodies to produce profiles for staff in different roles. With Tabetha Newman I’ve designed friendly, informative questions to help individuals explore their own digital strengths and preferences.
I’ve done keynotes at several recent conferences including the UCISA Spotlight on Digital Capabilities event in May, EsTEEM at the Open University in April and the all-Ireland e-Portfolios conference in March, and a presentation on the future of work to the UHR conference in Brighton.
I’ve been lucky enough in the last year to be asked for input to digital literacy frameworks in Australia, Europe, and in South Africa on behalf of the Commonwealth of Learning.
